Event Details

The end of Guardian Cardiff is nigh so we would like to invite you to a special Cardiff Bloggers Meet Up to celebrate the site.

The subject of the night will be guest blogging - as many you have contributed to the site through guest blogs, photos, links and general engagement. We'll be speaking to Helia Phoenix from Hack/Flash and social media guru Tom Beardshaw about their experiences contributing to a number of sites as guest bloggers.

For this special meet-up we're changing venues - the May bloggers meet up will take place on Wednesday 25 May at Media Point, Chapter Arts Centre at the later time of 8pm, aiming to finish at 11pm. If you arrive early please grab a drink in the bar downstairs before joining us in Media Point.

Chapter also has free wi-fi if people want to bring laptops/mobiles and tweeting is encouraged - use the hashtag #cdfblogs.

As always, the lovely people at Warwick Emanuel PR have agreed to sponsor some free drinks at the event - you need to register to this event to secure your free beverage (glass of wine, pint of lager or soft drink).

Cardiff-based Warwick Emanuel PR was set up in 2001 by Elizabeth Warwick and Wynford Emanuel. The company offers both traditional public relations and new media – specialising in podcasts, webfilms, blogs and social networking. Warwick Emanuel PR and Media Wales organised the first ever Wales Blog Awards in 2010. For more information log on to www.wepr.co.uk.

Thanks this time goes to the Guardian for helping us put on this event as a final send off for the blog.

The event will be hosted by Hannah Waldram, Guardian beatblogger for Cardiff, and Ed Walker, Media Wales online communities editor, who will both be there on the night to answer any blogging queries you've got after the presentation (disclaimer - Hannah will not be taking questions on the closure of Guardian Local - please direct your queries to the people at the Guardian, this is a celebratory event).

You can email Hannah on cardiff.local@guardian.co.uk or Ed on Ed.Walker@mediawales.co.uk for more info.

Tickets for this event are for your free beverage only - you can still come along without a ticket and everyone is welcome.
